Well, I made it through my first week of law school--unscathed by the professors (I wasn't called on although I did volunteer to answer a few times) but totally overwhelmed by the amount of work that's required. I'm slowly getting into a routine of when I read for my Torts and Property classes versus when I read for Criminal Law, Contracts and Lawyering Process (and do everything else that's required for those classes, not just reading but briefing, answering questions, reviewing, preparing for classtime). Sometimes it seems like the list of things I need to get done is endless (and it pretty much is for the rest of my life.) One thing we've talked about is that there is always another case to look up. Hopefully next week will be a little easier to manage and things will fit easier into a schedule. I've met several new people and I've come to the realization that everyone feels the same way I do....scared, overwhelmed, unsure, etc. What's comforting is that even the professors felt this way at one time in their lives, too and eventually it will pass. It may be 3 years, but it will pass. Because everyone comes from somewhere different, its almost like you connect to everyone in one way or another--even if it is just that you're both scared to death of one professor or another or of one assignment--the final. All in all, I'd say I've had a good first week of law school. I'm planning on coming back next week, so that's got to count for something, right?

Welcome to Me
Well, I have finally broken down and joined some semblance of internet life by starting this blog. I don't have a Facebook account; I don't have a MySpace account; I don't "tweet" and I don't want to. But I have discovered I LOVE reading blogs--blogs of people I know and people I don't know. My husband thinks it's kind of stalker-ish, but I don't care!!! One of the main reasons I've created this blog is to be able to keep up with all of the blogs I do enjoy reading on a regular basis. But, since I am moving out of my home town--all by myself--I figured it would be a good way to update my friends and family on how things are going once Law School gets started. Don't expect regular updates from me. I may not take to blogging very well--what, with the hundreds of pages I'll have to read each week and who know what other assignments that will be thrown at me?!?!?!?!?!?! But I am excited about school starting and hope you will take pleasure reading the few posts I do write once things get rolling!!! Enjoy!!!!
